The Story of How Lauraconteur Was Born

The Story of How Lauraconteur Was Born

Hi, guys! This is really exciting, isn’t it? Today is the day I’m going to launch my blog. I have been waiting for this moment for some time already and now we’re finally here. But let’s get started, shall we? My name is Laura and I'm 19 years old. I’m an IT student, a coffee addict and I love bunnies - they are the cutest creatures alive, aren’t they? I love people and I love writing - what could be better than to start a blog then?

I used to have a blog back in 2014. It was really nice. To be honest, it was one of the greatest experiences I´ve ever had. The blogging community is such an amazing union, letting people from all over the world support and communicate with each other. My blog didn´t have a certain topic or niche back then. I wrote about almost everything that came into my mind – blogging tips, fashion inspiration etc. I can´t exactly remember the reason I stopped blogging – it could´ve been because I didn´t have enough time. But now I'm back!

I have always felt that I was born into this world to give people something. For a very long time, I didn´t exactly know what my „gift“ to the world was, but I think that I´ve found the answer to my question now. Just like many people, I love writing. I'm currently going through some very difficult times in my life, so I'm in need of a creative outlet. So, I'm launching a blog. Again.

You’re probably wondering about the blog name now, aren’t you? Well, let me explain. As I have already mentioned, my name is Laura. I have always loved the French word “raconteur” which basically means “a storyteller”. The main goal of this blog is to tell helpful stories, so I decided to merge these two words and boom - Lauraconteur was born!

People say that you should always find one niche and then write posts about that niche. While it may be useful for some people to do so (read why), my blog isn’t going to focus on one niche only. I feel like I have so many different stories to tell, so there will be a few areas that I’m going to cover.

Blogging advice. This is something a lot of bloggers write about, but since I’m an IT girl, I’m going to share my best blogging tips connected with coding, blog’s appearance etc.

Relationship advice. I’m going to give some advice on how to find new friends as an adult, how to get over a breakup, how to keep and maintain friendships etc.

Financial advice. I’m a student, so I will be sharing my tips on how to budget in college, how to reach financial goals and how to save money if you have no money to save.

Food advice. On my blog, you will find different recipes, some vegan stuff and I’m also going to tell you about how avoiding dairy and acne are related.

Health advice. I’m going to cover topics such as anxiety, lisp (yes, I have a slight lisp), self-esteem, depression and eating disorders.

Life hacks. Yay, this is the most interesting topic in my opinion! Who wouldn’t like to know more about the tips that help us make our lives easier? How to make any cake mix taste like it was from the bakery? Is it possible to sleep 8 hours in 4 hours? Stay tuned!

Basically, my blog will be your little guide to everything. You know how people love setting blogging goals? Yeah, I love that too. But I’m not going to set any numerical goals right now because for me being successful in blogging doesn’t result in numbers. It’s all about the content I’m creating and the people I’m sharing that content with.

♡ Launch a blog (done!)

♡ Be happy with the content I
’m creating

♡ Get close with my readers (hi, new friends!)

♡ Set up a blog series (Motivational Monday, Tech Tuesday, Food Friday etc)

♡ Post two times a week (for now it’s going to be every Wednesday and Saturday)

♡ At the end of each month do a roundup of everything that has happened for/on your blog that month

How I Started a Blog and You Can Too

And now let’s get down to the real question.

♡ No bullshitting, only real stuff. I know that a lot of people like to write about good things only and while I believe it’s really nice of them to do so, I’m going to write about almost everything that’s going to pop into my mind.

♡ I’m still trying to find my place in this world, which is something a lot of you are going through right now as well, so I would love to share my journey with you.

♡ My advice is based only on my own experiences.

♡ I want to help people because when I was looking for help, there was no “real” advice or it was really hard to put everything together.

♡ I feel like I’m pretty good at writing.

What are the biggest challenges you've had to overcome as a blogger?
